Junior Application Engineer (f/m/d)

Festanstellung, Vollzeit · Berlin, Hybrid

The ideal candidate is
A motivated early-career audio or acoustics professional who is eager to specialise in sound system design and simulation. You are curious, analytical and enjoy translating complex technical topics into precise, practical solutions. You bring a solid theoretical foundation, some first experience of acoustics and system modelling, and you’re keen to learn from more experienced colleagues. You like working in a team, take responsibility for your tasks and are open to feedback and continuous learning.
Main objectives of the role

As a Junior Application Engineer (f/m/d) you will support the planning, simulation and implementation of HOLOPLOT system designs for advanced projects. You’ll work closely with senior team members and gradually expand your technical capabilities as your experience grows.

Your role and responsibilities

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in planning and simulation of loudspeaker systems for HOLOPLOT projects using HOLOPLOT Plan, HOLOPLOT’s other proprietary tools, EASE, and other similar software.

  • Assist in building room geometry models using CAD  tools such as SketchUp, Revit or BIM360.

  • Assist the team in preparing outputs for sharing with project stakeholders.

  • Prepare initial system proposal documents outlining system layout, capabilities, and expected performance.

  • Present draft simulations and system concepts internally; and support senior engineers.

  • Contribute to knowledge exchange across teams by documenting learnings and supporting best-practice development.

  • Supporting the preparation and facilitation of design workshops and internal reviews.

  • Assist in field measurements of HOLOPLOT systems and helping to prepare measurement reports

  • Play an active role in team development, improving workflows, review processes and quality assurance.

What you need to succeed in this role
  • A university degree in acoustics, audio engineering, event technology or a related field, ideally with basic knowledge of beamforming systems such as line arrays. Knowledge of spatial or immersive audio aspects is desirable.

  • Ideally some practical experience (internships, working student roles or initial full-time experience) in planning, simulation or testing audio systems

  • Basic familiarity with Python, MATLAB, or Excel, for post processing results is a plus

  • Basic knowledge of acoustic simulation tools such as EASE and/or CATT, or a strong motivation to learn them

  • Basic experience with acoustic measurement tools such as EASERA or SMAART

  • Ideally some familiarity with 3D drafting tools (e.g. Revit, SketchUp)

  • Fluency in English; German skills are a plus

  • Willingness to travel occasionally inland and abroad

  • A hands-on, responsible working style and strong team spirit

  • Curiosity, a desire to learn and motivation to work with complex technical challenges

  • Be a team player

About us
We are a pro audio company from Berlin, Germany. Since early 2011, we have been working on radically transforming audio technology, by re-thinking the underlying physics of sound reproduction. We wondered: What if sound could truly be controlled the way we can control light? What if we could create soundscapes that feel more real than reality? What if every seat in a venue could be made the best seat?

Our solution is science-based, software-driven, and hardware-enabled: the HOLOPLOT Matrix Array. The sound system for a new era, a powerful tool that brings previously inaccessible capabilities to the world of audio.

We believe when people experience better sound, they will enjoy more meaningful moments and create richer memories, leading to more fulfilling lives. At HOLOPLOT, it is our mission to redefine what is possible - enabling unparalleled and breathtaking experiences. A revolution in sound. Be part of it.
